Colorado Springs man arrested after domestic violence incident at King Soopers

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a man in the woods behind a King Soopers following reports of a domestic violence incident.

Police responded to a call about a domestic violence incident at the King Soopers at 2900 S. Academy Blvd. When officers arrived on the scene, a woman claimed she had been beaten by her ex-boyfriend. Police also noted that she had obvious injuries.

According to CSPD, officers were able to quickly locate the suspect. There were already arrest warrants against him and he was currently on probation. The man was discovered in a wooded area and arrested after a brief scuffle. He had a semi-automatic pistol, a protective vest and narcotics with him.

The suspect, identified by police as Jacoby Tubbs, was taken into custody and charged with prior firearm possession, domestic violence and drug offenses.

Tubbs was arraigned before the CJC on the listed charges and outstanding warrants.
