Broken Arrow police officer placed on leave after arrest for illegal parking; investigation ongoing

A Broken Arrow police officer was placed on leave following a review of an arrest for a parking violation on May 29.

According to BAPD, officers were called to a home at 1200 West Quincy Street for a parking violation.

BAPD spoke with the owner of the vehicle, which led to a confrontation at the front door of his home and ultimately his arrest inside the home.

Police said the chain of command was notified due to a routine review of the report to further investigate the incident.

After the investigation, the officer was placed on leave.

An internal investigation is currently underway to determine whether the officer’s actions complied with Broken Arrow city policies and procedures, police said.
