CRAWFORD COUNTY, Iowa (KCAU) — A fatal car crash on Highway 30 left one person dead and four others injured.

The Iowa State Patrol said a fatal crash occurred around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 30 west of the N Avenue intersection, just east of Denison.

An Oklahoma man was driving a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on Highway 30 when he lost control, authorities said. The Grand Prix then collided with a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 19-year-old.

One of the Grand Prix’s passengers, 35-year-old Cory Beer of Bayard, Iowa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Grand Prix and two other passengers were flown to an Omaha hospital. The driver of the Suburban was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
