Jennings man pleads guilty to sexual abuse of child

JENNINGS, Louisiana (KPLC) – A Jennings man has pleaded guilty to multiple counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Kyle Jacob Lakey, 26, was arrested in 2022 after the victim said Lakey sexually abused her between the ages of 13 and 15.

According to the Jeff Davis Parish District Attorney’s Office, Lakey pleaded guilty in May to 10 counts of sexual intercourse with a minor.

He must register as a sex offender for 15 years. Sentencing is scheduled for August 8.

Lakey’s wife was also arrested on sexual assault and cruelty charges as part of the same investigation. We have reached out to the District Attorney’s Office to learn the status of her case and are awaiting an update.
