Life's obstacles inspire the music of Houston singer-songwriter Catterina

Houston singer-songwriter Catterina tends to draw inspiration from real-life experiences. His 2022 EP 421 fuses elements of jazz, pop and R&B to tell the story of a difficult time she went through.

In the audio above, Catterina and her band perform the songs “Inconvenience” and “Same Conversation” during a visit to Houston Public Media last month for a Skyline Sessions rooftop taping. Right there on the roof, she spoke with Troy Schulze of Houston Matters.
