Man pulls knife during road rage incident at Rehoboth Beach

LEWES, UK — Delaware State Police have arrested Tyler Draine, 27, of Rehoboth Beach, following a dangerous road rage incident involving a knife that occurred Saturday afternoon in Lewes, specifically at the intersection of Coastal Highway and Wescoats Road.

Authorities were called to the scene at around 5:41 p.m. on June 1 after Draine stopped in front of a car on a moped at a traffic light and threatened the occupants with a knife.

After threatening violence, Draine fled south on the Coastal Highway while the victims contacted emergency services.

A police officer responding to the 911 call spotted and stopped Draine near Airport Road. The arrest became dramatic when Draine resisted arrest and ran across the highway, leading to a brief foot chase. During a subsequent search, Draine was found to be in possession of a pocket knife.

Following his arrest, Draine was charged with aggravated menacing, among other charges, and arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 3. He was later released on $6,202 unsecured bail.
