Woman loses unborn baby after she and her husband are attacked by teenagers

A 41-year-old pregnant woman lost her unborn child after she and her husband were brutally attacked by a gang of teenagers on the streets of Chicago.

The woman and her husband were on their way home after a night of drinking in the Streeterville neighborhood when they were surrounded by a group of at least ten people.

“They didn’t steal anything. They said something like, ‘We own the street. We own the street. You can’t just walk around.’ I was wearing, like, a nice dress and high heels. When I went out with my husband, they dragged my dress across the floor and said something like, ‘We own the street. You can’t just walk around in your little dress and prance around.’ And they said things that just didn’t make sense to me because they didn’t know me personally,” the woman said. WFLD.

She told the news station that she was pepper-sprayed and kicked in the stomach, and lost a lock of hair in the attack. Her husband tried to fight back, but the group held him down while his wife was beaten.

Police arrived and took two people, a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, into custody. Both were charged with assault but were released.
