Former BC High teacher charged with alleged rape of student

A Jesuit priest and former theology teacher at Boston College High School in Dorchester has been charged with raping a student at the private Catholic boys’ school between 2008 and 2009, officials said Wednesday.

Kevin White, 62, of Weston, was indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury on Friday on charges of rape and child molestation, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden’s office said in a statement. White lived outside of Massachusetts between 2010 and 2021, the statement said.

He is due to be arraigned at Suffolk High Court on June 27.

“All teachers and all religious officials are persons of authority and have a professional and moral obligation to always exercise that authority properly and appropriately,” Hayden said in the statement. “Our office will provide ongoing support to this former student as this case progresses.”

No contact information for White could be found Wednesday morning and it was unclear whether White had hired an attorney to represent him.

Spokespeople for BC High and the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston did not immediately respond to requests for comment on White.
