Discovery Green’s hit film series is back for another season. Here, moviegoers can sit on the lawn – or bring a lawn chair if they wish – and sit on free screenings of family films in the park. Make sure to pack at least a blanket and a few snacks for good measure.

Food and drinks including beer and wine are available for purchase at the Lake House. The next event is planned for June 22 at 7 p.m. with screening of the musical mean girls redo.

2. TMC Hélix Park

The recently opened park at the Texas Medical Center is a 37-acre green space integrated into the double helix structure DNA. Connecting green spaces, culinary vendors and artistic avenues, the park is also the starting point for a variety of exciting events.

This summer, the park is hosting a movie night at Helix Hall. On June 20there will be a screening of Lucas for families to watch in the park. Popcorn, candy, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on site.
