A dead star appears to be dying again, say astronomers who have discovered a pulsar that is gradually losing its rotation.

Pulsars are a type of neutron star that is itself the remnant of a supermassive star that reached the end of its life in a supernova explosion. They get their name because they spin rapidly, at least several times per second, emitting jets that appear to “pulse” when viewed from Earth.
