Storms possible late morning in Houston with strong winds and hail

Today’s forecast:

I’m monitoring storms in Northeast Texas moving south this morning. If they hold, we will have thunderstorms around 9am in our northern cities. In Houston, storms arrive at 11 a.m. Rain moves towards the coast early in the afternoon.

Besides lightning, there is a low threat of severe weather in terms of damaging winds and hail. There is also great diversity in rainfall totals. Some of us don’t get a drop of rain while others might get over an inch of rain. Rain will provide some relief from the hot and humid conditions we are experiencing. We find excessive heat from Thursday to Sunday.
