Red Dead Redemption 2 PS5 upgrade mod promises to “change the game forever”

PC players can completely rework the game with this handy mod

Later this year, Red Dead Redemption 2 celebrates his sixth birthday.

Thankfully, it’s still pretty easy to have fun in Rockstar Games’ Rootin’ Tootin’ open-world title, thanks to the exquisite detail it offers.

With each new playthrough there is always a new discovery to be made, from a gruesome discovery to pigs to a hidden smuggler’s tunnel.

If you, I dare say, begin to find that your Red Dead Redemption 2 If playthroughs are getting a little boring, I have the perfect mod to enhance your experience.

Promised by its Creator to “change RDR2 forever”, the mod in question is “RDR2 – DSX’.

Created by NexusMods user Shtivi, the mod essentially introduces support for Sony’s DualSense controller and adds new adaptive triggers and visual status indicators.

Check out some of our most popular Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below.

The mod enables adaptive triggers via DualSense for a range of weapons and items, including pistols, throwing weapons, bows, lassos, and fishing rods.

To indicate your health, the controller’s LED “changes from green to red as your health decreases.” If you’re too strong, it turns gold and fades as the effect wears off.

As for your stamina, the controller’s LED has a “breathing effect” that occurs more frequently the lower your stamina is. When you’re on a horse, it will display your horse’s stamina instead.

When Dead Eye is activated, the controller’s LED light will glow red. This will also dim as your Dead Eye level drops.

It goes without saying that you will need a DualSense controller to use this mod.

The mod itself is completely free, but you need DSX already installed – a paid program that enables DualSense integration with PC. At the time of writing, you can purchase it on Steam for just £6.69.

For PC players, it’s a great opportunity to completely overhaul the base game.
