MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Just in time for the first day of the Carolina Country Music Fest, we’re giving you the first warning of increasing heat and humidity! The possibility of a few thunderstorms remains through Thursday.

The humidity is noticeable as you step out the door this morning and will continue to rise throughout the day.

Temperatures will rise into the high 90s on the beaches and above 30 degrees inland. Temperatures will rise into the low 90s in some spots along I-95 today before the threat of a few storms in the afternoon.

CCMF FORECAST

Thursday, the opening day of the CCMF, will be very warm and humid. Afternoon temperatures will reach near 90 degrees on the beaches and near or just above 90 degrees inland. With very high humidity, the heat index will rise to over 90 degrees.

Due to the high humidity in the region, there will be isolated thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening, with the chance of rain increasing to 40%.

The latest data from this morning says storms will remain mostly inland through the late afternoon and evening. However, some storms may develop quickly with increased humidity.
