MBI investigates fatal shooting involving Flowood police

One person is dead after a shootout involving officers from the Flowood Police Department. According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, officers from the Flowood Police Department received a call that someone was attempting to break into apartments near Park Circle Drive. When they arrived at the scene and approached the suspect, the suspect fired at the officers, according to the Flowood Police Department, and the officers returned fire, fatally striking the suspect. None of the officers were seriously injured in the shootout. The MBI is investigating.

FLOWOOD, Miss —

One person was killed in a shooting involving officers from the Flowood Police Department.

According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, officers with the Flowood Police Department received a call that someone was attempting to break into apartments near Park Circle Drive.

When they arrived at the scene and approached the suspect, according to Flowood police, the suspect fired at officers and officers returned fire, fatally striking the suspect.

None of the officers were seriously injured in the shooting.
