Police seek suspect for sexual assault on White Rock Lake Trail

DALLAS – Dallas police are working to identify a man involved in an alleged sexual assault last week on the White Rock Lake Trail.

A woman was jogging on the trail near the 4800 block of W. Lawther Drive around noon on May 30 when she was attacked and sexually assaulted by an unknown male suspect, police said.

The suspect is described by police as a white male, approximately 5’5″ tall, with red hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue crew neck shirt and police say the suspect may have scratches on his face and body.

Police are working to identify the suspect.

“The Dallas Police Department is asking residents in the vicinity of the reported crime to be on the lookout for suspicious individuals matching the suspect’s description and to contact police to report any suspicious activity or individuals,” a Dallas Police Department press release said. “As always, the Dallas Police Department is urging the public to practice good safety precautions at all times. This includes always being aware of your surroundings, going out with another person, telling a trusted friend or family member where you are, and staying in well-lit areas at night.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 911.
