We are all dead Season 1 was perfect and didn’t really need a sequel, which is why I’m cautiously excited about the upcoming season 2. The first season of We are all dead was a hit for Netflix and quickly prompted a renewal for a second season. Although the long wait for We are all dead The release of season 2 is frustrating. It is not uncommon for Korean web series to take two years or more to release new seasons. I was not surprised that We are all dead was renewedbut the show could have worked as a miniseries.

The first season of We are all dead consisted of 12 one-hour episodes which were all released at once. The experience of watching the zombie K-drama in one go was like watching six zombie movies in a row, but the show never became boring or predictable. We are all dead is one of my favorite K-dramas on Netflix, and while I can’t wait for season 2 to finally premiere, the show does have some challenges it must overcome.

Now that Korean web series like Netflix’s Sweet home And We are all dead are becoming more and more common, I believe that soon there will be many series that will continue beyond the premises of their webtoon.

While traditional Korean dramas typically have 16 episodes per season, web series designed for streaming often end with a sequel that leaves the door open for additional seasons. Love alarm, Squid Game, Sweet home, We are all deadAnd Gyeongseong Creature are just a few examples of current Netflix original K-dramas that ran for more than just one season. Interestingly, the fact that We are all dead did not use the title of the webtoon made me believe that the Netflix series would eventually take place outside of school – and that is now the case.

The zombie K-drama was a tragic series from start to finish, with heartbreaking deaths in almost every episode. It was virtually impossible for We are all dead have a happy ending after everything that happened during the outbreak at the school. Cheong-san’s “death” may have been tragic, but it was a fitting end for the character considering he was willing to sacrifice himself to protect On-jo. The same goes for On-jo’s father So-ju.

We are all dead Season 2 may be a long way off, but the events of season 1 make me believe the horror K-drama will be very different when it returns. First, the school was destroyed. Not only is the school gone, but Most of Hyosan was destroyed by the military to prevent the spread of the Jonas virus to other regions.

Whereas We are all dead Season 1 was a high school K-drama meets horror series, season 2 may be a post-apocalyptic story where the characters must find a way to continue their lives in a fallen city. If We are all dead Season 2 will be as good as the first, that’s hard to saybut I expect it to take the series in a completely different direction. It could be similar to what Sweet home Season 2 achieved this by introducing new characters and even a time jump.

The fact that We are all dead Season 2 will probably be very different from Season 1, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be great. Most changes We are all dead made to work on the webtoonwhich means the story of season 2 can work too. The cliffhanger at the end of season 1 was interesting enough to make me excited for season 2, especially with regards to the other Hambies Nam-ra mentioned. I also can’t wait to find out who or what the villains will be in season 2.

I predict that We are all dead Season 2 focuses on the Hambies and Nam-ra’s mission to protect them now that the soldiers are hunting the zombies that are left in Hyosan. I’m also curious to see if Cheong-san is really dead. Despite the circumstances of his death, Cheong-san is too big a character not to be included in the series. We are all dead Season 2. I may be worried if We are all dead can recapture the magic of the first season, but I’m excited to see what the second season will offer.
