NBA announces Jamal Murray fine: Will he be suspended?

During Game 2 of the NBA Semifinals, the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray was so disgusted that he threw a heating pad and towel onto the court in the direction of an NBA official.

While fans and pundits have speculated that they would have been suspended if it had been anyone else, The league did not comply with this sanction and instead decided to fine Murray $100,000 for the tantrum.

Fans were quick to point this out Throwing objects on the ground during live play is potentially dangerous for both referees and players. Although the size of the fine may seem large, it represents only 0.003% of Murray’s annual income.

With Murray is still available for Game 3, some are critical of the leagueHowever, NBA expert Tim Legler pointed out that Murray was just 3 of 18 on the night, quipping, “I’m not shocked he missed Marc Davis with that heat pack.”
