3 dead and 2 injured after car accident in Central, police say

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – The Central Police Department is investigating a car crash in Central that left three people dead and two injured.

According to CPD, the accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 17000 block of Magnolia Bridge Road between Old Wax Road and Greenwell Springs Road.


According to CPD, two people were trapped in an overturned vehicle after a head-on collision.

CPD and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office are on scene. CPD says EMS, Central Fire Department and Acadian Air Med are also on scene.

“The 17000 block of Magnolia Bridge Road is closed from Wax to Greenwell Springs Road due to a traffic accident. The road will be closed for several hours,” CPD said in a Facebook post.
