Suspect arrested for June 1 stabbing in Krutch Park, Knoxville, Tennessee. Police say

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – According to Knoxville Police, a suspect in connection with a stabbing that occurred Saturday night in Krutch Park was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the same park.

On Saturday, police responded to the scene of a stabbing in Krutch Park around 11:30 p.m. The victim was taken to the hospital but was able to tell police that he had been stabbed by a shaved-headed white man who had fled the area.


Tuesday afternoon, Knoxville Police announced that 60-year-old David Moore had been arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with aggravated assault. Through the continued investigation by KPD Homicide Detectives and a tip to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers, Moore was identified as a suspect.

He was tracked down and arrested in Krutch Park on Tuesday afternoon. According to Knoxville police, the victim positively identified Moore as the suspect.

The victim, who was taken to UT Medical Center after the stabbing, is still in intensive care but in stable condition, according to Knoxville police.

This arrest is separate from the arrest in connection with a second stabbing that occurred Monday evening in Krutch Park.
