Woman shot dead after neighborhood dispute in Philadelphia’s Tacony neighborhood, police said

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A woman was killed in a shooting on Tuesday morning that apparently occurred after a dispute between neighbors.

According to Philadelphia police, officers were called to a neighborhood dispute and shots fired in the 7100 block of Montague Street in Tacony just before noon Tuesday.

There they found a 65-year-old woman who had died from gunshot wounds.

The shooter was in a building and refused to leave, prompting police to describe the situation as a barricade.

However, the incident was resolved at 1:20 p.m. and a male suspect was taken into custody.

The circumstances of this shooting remain under investigation.

The names of those involved were not published.
