Pedestrian hit and killed by car on Northeast Sandy Boulevard

PORTLAND, Oregon — A person was struck and killed by a car in northeast Portland on Monday evening. Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to contact them.

Officers responded to the crash near Northeast Sandy Boulevard shortly before 10 p.m. Monday. The person, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene, according to Portland police. The driver remained at the scene. Portland police did not immediately say whether the driver was under criminal investigation.

During the investigation, Portland Police closed Northeast Sandy Boulevard from Northeast 94th Avenue to Northeast 98th Avenue.
