VCU automatically includes university community in warning SMS messages

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) has announced that it will begin automatically enrolling students, faculty and staff in VCU Alert text messages.

According to the university, this change will come into effect on June 5.

VCU Alert Text Messages are part of the University’s system for communicating emergency information to the University community.

Users can stop receiving alerts on their phone by replying “Stop” to a VCU alert text message.
