THIS IS ALONG MILITARY SOUTH AND MELALEUCA, RIGHT ON THE CORNER OF WHERE THE CUMBERLAND FARMS GAS STATION IS NOW, ACCORDING TO PALM BEACH COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATORS. IT HAPPENED THIS MORNING RIGHT AFTER 620, WHEN FIRST RESPONDERS GET IN THERE THEY FOUND THE MAN ON THE GROUND. HE WAS PRONUNCIATED DEAD AT THE SCENE AND WE WERE TOLD NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED. POLICE AND INVESTIGATORS TELL ME THEY ARE TRYING TO FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. IF THIS MAN WAS REALLY ON THE PALM TRAN BUS AND MAYBE GETTING OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENED, IT IS ALL STILL UNCLEAR AND UNDER INVESTIGATION. A Palm Tran passenger was killed Tuesday morning when he was struck by a Palm Tran bus in Greenacres. The Palm Beach County Fire Department said the accident occurred at 6:23 a.m. at the intersection of Military Trail South and Melaleuca Lane. Emergency crews arrived in less than 2.5 minutes and found the victim on the ground. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The fire department has not yet disclosed what happened prior to the accident, but reports there are no other injuries. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation. In a statement to WPBF 25, Palm Tran issued the following statement on the incident: We are extremely saddened by today’s accident that resulted in the death of one of our passengers. Palm Tran is working with PBSO as we continue our internal investigation. Our prayers are for the passengers, their families and all those affected. A Palm Tran passenger was killed Tuesday morning when he was struck by a Palm Tran bus in Greenacres.

According to the Palm Beach County Fire Department, the accident occurred around 6:23 a.m. at the intersection of Military Trail South and Melaleuca Lane.

Units arrived in less than 2.5 minutes and found the victim on the ground.

Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene of the accident.

The fire department has not yet commented on the events leading up to the accident, but reports that there are no further injuries.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation.

In a statement to WPBF 25, Palm Tran said the following about the incident:
