LAWRENCE, Kansas – Lawrence police arrested two teenagers Tuesday morning after several car and home break-ins in a residential neighborhood.

According to LPDOn Tuesday morning, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of several car and house break-ins during the night.


At around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, officers responded to a residential area just north of the I-70 McDonald Drive on-ramp for reports of two men breaking into cars.

Officers and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office surrounded the neighborhood and found the two men with the help of drones. Police said both suspects were hiding when they were found.

Police are asking residents near Shoal Lane and Riverridge Road to check their vehicles and garages and to call 911 if items are missing from cars or garages or if it appears someone has broken into a car or garage.
