Drake’s security guard fired shots outside his Toronto mansion while police investigated

A security guard was injured in a drive-by shooting at Drake’s Toronto mansion, just days after Kendrick Lamar used an image of the lavish estate as the cover of his new dissident track against the rapper.

The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning at the rapper’s lavish Park Lane Circle residence in the prominent Canadian neighborhood of Bridle Path.

Toronto police said the security guard was standing at the gates of the property when he was shot by an unknown assailant.

A suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, according to Toronto Police Service information on X.

The unnamed security guard suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was unconscious when officers entered the home, police said. He was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

It’s not clear if Drake was home at the time, but his team is said to have been cooperating with investigators.

The shooting came just days after rival Lamar doxxed Drake’s house in a dissident track against him, amid an ongoing feud between the two rappers. Lamar wrote three similar diss songs about Drake in just 36 hours.

After the dissident’s release, Lamar fans used Google Maps to rename parts of Drake’s neighborhood after Lamar.

On one pin, fans wrote “kendrickownsdrake,” while other nearby homes were renamed “CertifiedKidLover,” “Kendrick’s Pool” and “ChildMOE-lester.”

The feud between the two stars began a month ago when Lamar lashed out at the Canadian rapper and J Cole in his song “First Person Shooter.”

Drake responded with a dissident track in which he accused Lamar of domestic violence. Lamar, in turn, has accused Drake of having a secret daughter.

In another song titled “Not Like Us,” the “Humble” rapper calls Drake a “certified pedophile” and makes multiple references to alleged interactions with younger women.

“Say, Drake, I heard you like her young,” Lamar begins, explaining that Drake would be in trouble for his supposed interests. “You better never go to cell block one.”

Paul Krawczyk of the police department’s Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force said the motive behind the shooting at Drake’s home remains under investigation.
