Johnson County man dies after train-pedestrian accident | KCII Radio

A Johnson County man was pronounced dead over the weekend following a train crash involving a pedestrian in Tiffin.

At approximately 3:34 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, the Joint Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting the incident at the Brown Street and Iowa Interstate railroad crossing. Johnson County Sheriff’s officers arrived on the scene and located and identified 30-year-old Cody Marmet of Tiffin, who had sustained serious injuries. Life-saving measures were administered, but Marmet succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. The Tiffin Fire Department, Johnson County EMS, North Liberty Fire Department, Joint Emergency Communications Center and the Johnson County Coroner’s Office assisted in the investigation.
