Person in custody after gun incident in Howard Village

HOWARD (NBC 26) – This update was just sent to our newsroom:
On 5/7/24, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office received information that an individual was in mental health crisis. When the situation escalated and there was a danger from weapons in the apartment, psychiatric professionals were sent to provide care. Mental health professionals requested assistance from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Unit responded to the scene along with the Crisis Negotiation Team. The individual was eventually taken into custody and sent for psychiatric treatment.
