Rapist gives police an interview without comment

Liam Stimpson, who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping a homeless woman, refused to answer police questions about the attack.

Stimpson, from Llanrumney in Cardiff, repeatedly replied “no comment” when officers questioned him about the incident, which occurred in Cardiff city centre in December.

Sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court, Judge Jeremy Jenkins said the attack was “unprovoked, repeated and sustained violence against a woman who was unable to defend herself”.

“You have completely humiliated her – you have taken away the last shred of her dignity,” the judge said, describing the attack as “bordering on sadism.”
