A friend of the family Spencer And Katharina Krueger paid tribute to their three-year-old son Levi after the parents gave an update on the little one’s condition.

“I can’t even put into words how hard the last two weeks have been for me. From the moment my phone rang on the night of his accident until last night when I got the news that he had to go,” Mindy Sue Clark wrote on Facebook on Monday, June 3. “I don’t want to focus on the bad or sad, even though it feels like someone ripped out my heart and crushed it in front of my eyes. I want to focus on the many miracles we all got to experience during these 12 days.”

Clark, who described herself as Levi’s “Aunt Mindy,” said the response she and the Wright family received was “absolutely incredible” as strangers came together to send their best wishes to Levi as he battled a severe brain injury in May after driving his toy tractor into a Utah river.

“Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people surrounded our best little buddy, praying for him and lovingly embracing Levi and his family,” she continued. “We have never seen or experienced anything like this before. I don’t know if we will ever be able to fully process it.”

Clark then paid tribute to the toddler. (Neither Kallie nor Spencer have provided an update on Levi, who was last seen in critical condition on Sunday, June 2.)

“The most perfect three-year-old ever. So perfect we couldn’t keep him,” Clark wrote. “This little boy has moved mountains in the last 12 days. He has brought so many people together. In a world so dark, we have seen light through the hands of a child. He is everything his mommy and daddy would have wanted him to be.”

Clark said she was so “grateful” to be a part of Levi’s life and that she was happy to be able to spend so much time with the little one before his accident.

“This is a blessing I will never top. I am also so thankful that the last time I was in Utah, even though I was so tired, I stayed up a little later to make s’mores with the kids. They hadn’t talked about anything else all day,” she wrote. “Love you Beans! I’m going to miss you like crazy buddy!”

Levi was first hospitalized in late May. According to a May 21 statement from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, Levi had “driven a toy tractor into a river” and lost visual contact with his family. After the child was “quickly located,” “life-saving measures” were administered before he was transported to a local hospital.

The Wright family was unsure if Levi would make a full recovery as his condition “did not change significantly” during his continued medical treatment, according to a May 22 social media update from Clark.

On Sunday, Kallie gave a heartbreaking update on Levi’s condition and shared that she and her husband were preparing to say goodbye to their son.

“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, numerous conversations with the best neurologists in the world, and millions of prayers, here we are in the face of our greatest fear. Levi showed us just enough to buy us time to do all of this,” Kallie captioned a video of herself and Levi shared on Facebook on Sunday. “We prayed that this would defy all odds and prove to us that he wanted to stay, but now we see that he wanted to give us time to come to terms with letting him go. I told you my baby is thoughtful and considerate, and I truly believe he did that for us.”
