A motorcyclist dies in an accident in El Dorado County

CAMERON PARK, Calif. – One person was killed in a crash on eastbound Highway 50 Monday evening.

The California Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist left Highway 50 east of Cambridge Road in El Dorado County and struck the guardrail. He died at the scene. Police do not know what caused the motorcyclist to leave the road.

The accident was reported around 6:30 p.m. and the motorcyclist was only described as male.

It is unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
