Record possible this week in Buffalo New York

Things are going to get hot and humid over the next 48 hours here in Western New York before some cool down weather hits us.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts a cooler and drier June, but over the next two days it will be very hot in the 716.

We could see a new record on Wednesday.

The current record for June 5 is 87 degrees, which dates back to 1944. Current forecasts call for a high near 86, but with a slight change in cloud cover or wind, we could match or even exceed the record current.

Don’t get too used to the hot weather. A cold front is about to move through the area, which will cause a pretty significant cooldown. Starting Thursday and continuing through the weekend, we expect high temperatures that will be below average for this time of year.
