Traffic accident leads to closure of Broadway in both directions, according to SAPD

SAN ANTONIO – According to San Antonio Police, the road is closed in both directions due to an accident involving a motorcyclist on Broadway.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Funston Place and Mahncke Park

According to police, a 24-year-old man on a motorcycle was hit while turning onto Funston Place while traveling with two other motorcyclists toward Broadway.

The other two motorcyclists further up the road turned around and headed toward the accident scene, police said.

The motorcyclist who was hit was taken to hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police did not immediately say whether charges would be filed against the driver of the car. However, police said one person was arrested.

SAPD has closed Broadway in both directions for now. It is unclear how long this closure will last.
