YA NASTY!🤢 New report finds Houston is the dirtiest city in America

HOUSTON – Now we’re going to have to have a conversation about this, y’all because I don’t want to believe it either.

Our beloved city of Houston has made a new list, but this time… there’s something to be ashamed of.

According to a recent report from the nonprofit media organization Grist, the city of Houston is the dirtiest city in the entire country.

Yes, you read correctly.

Grist researchers reportedly studied more than 150 of the largest cities in the United States, focusing on pollution, living conditions, infrastructure and resident satisfaction.

And according to their findings, we didn’t fit into any of those categories.

Well, it sure stinks.

The article featured in The Hill noted that the Grist study analyzed data from various federal agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Census Bureau, the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Houston rose to the top spot as the dirtiest city due to high levels of pollution, a significant cockroach problem and greenhouse gas emissions from large industrial facilities.

Additionally, a 2022 Grist report found that some of Houston’s “petrochemical facilities had seriously violated EPA safety guidelines.”

For years, we have also been tracking the disproportionate number of cancer diagnoses among residents living specifically in the Fifth Ward community, where data has linked chemicals from a nearby former rail yard to the health of residents. residents of this neighborhood.
