MEMPHIS, Tennessee – A woman told police she had to jump out of her car to escape her estranged husband after he attacked her in their home and forced her to walk with him to an ATM.

According to police, 33-year-old Erick De La Rosa was arrested after refusing to stop for police officers. He was charged with evading arrest, aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, theft of property and theft of a motor vehicle.

The victim said she and De La Rosa had been living apart for months. She said he showed up at her Nutbush home late Thursday night, forced her inside, grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground.

The victim said De La Rosa then took her car keys and forced her to drive with him to an ATM, where he withdrew $40 using her debit card.

In January, De La Rosa was arrested on charges of assaulting his estranged wife. The case is still before the courts.

According to police, the couple had previously experienced cases of domestic violence.
