Bijan Robinson compares his role in 2024 to that of 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey

Bijan Robinson will take on a new role in the Atlanta Falcons offense under new head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, and it sounds like that will make him a force to be reckoned with in fantasy football.

“I’m going to be more of a runner who does everything else,” he said Monday about D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “…It’s like running first, like I did in college, and then still having access to the receiver. Still having access to do creative things out of the backfield. More so, like they use Christian (McCaffrey) down there in San Francisco. Something like that. That’s kind of the plan here.”

If the Falcons use Robinson like the Niners used McCaffrey, he should have a monster season. McCaffrey had 339 touches (272 carries, 67 receptions) last season, managed 2,023 yards from the offensive zone and 21 touchdowns.

It’s unfair to expect Robinson to repeat those incredible numbers, but Robinson only had 272 touches (214 carries, 58 catches) last season, which he converted into 1,463 yards and eight touchdowns.

Now imagine he gets nearly 70 more touches. From a fantasy perspective, Robinson looks like a potential top-3 pick and clear RB1 on your team.
