ROWAN COUNTY, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Kannapolis man was arrested for attempting to solicit sex from a minor, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 2, officers were notified of an adult male soliciting a 14-year-old girl through the Snapchat app. Officers learned that the man was known by the name “Moe” and worked as the owner of the Cannon Tobacco and Vape Shop in Kannapolis.

After reviewing the Snapchat conversations, it turned out that Moe had asked the teenager for sex and offered her e-cigarettes in exchange.

Deputies requested assistance from Kannapolis police in locating the suspect, but he was not found.

Officers began communicating with Moe through the app and received comments about his intentions to engage in sexual acts with the teenager, as well as photos that clearly showed the e-cigarette store in the background.

Officers returned to the e-cigarette store, where they identified “Moe” as Mohamed Mosed Ahmed Al-Hareurey.

Al-Hareurey was arrested and charged with inciting child prostitution via computer.

He is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center and bail is set at $250,000.

Investigators are trying to find out whether other young people could have fallen victim to Al-Hareurey.
