Wahpeton man charged after domestic incident and standoff

WAHPETON, ND (KVRR) — A Wahpeton man has been charged after a domestic violence incident that led to a standoff with authorities on Friday.

Nathan Deemer III, 20, is charged with terrorizing a minor, obstructing apprehension, reckless endangerment and domestic violence.

Deemer is accused of attacking a family member and pointing a gun at them.

A protection zone was established for parts of Wahpeton on Friday afternoon.

The family was able to leave the house.

After about three hours, Deemer tried to escape through a back entrance, but was arrested.
