Florence man arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and strangulation

FLORENCE, Alabama (WHNT) – The Florence Police Department (FPD) says a man was arrested after being accused of assaulting a woman.

According to FPD, officers responded to a medical emergency call at the Magnolia Garden Apartments around 2 a.m. Monday morning. Upon further investigation, officers found a 60-year-old female victim who had sustained numerous injuries in a domestic dispute.

Officers identified the suspect as Shoshuna Nash. According to FPD, Nash left the scene before officers arrived.

Nash was found in a nearby apartment complex and taken to the police station for questioning by detectives.

According to FPD, Nash was accused of the following:

• Third degree domestic violence
• Domestic Violence Strangulation
• Criminal manipulation
• Drug paraphernalia
• Unlawful possession of controlled substances.

Shoshuna Nash of Florence is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on $37,000 bail.
