ABC-7 First Alert: Hot Monday; triple-digit work week ahead

Our ABC-7 StormTrack Weather Team has issued an ABC-7 Initial Heat Alert. Temperatures will rise to 104 degrees on Wednesday and 105 degrees on Thursday.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – Today we begin another hot work week with temperatures getting hotter by the day.

Monday will be mostly calm and quiet. It will be dry and windy with gusts up to 25 mph. The biggest concern today and over the next few days will be the heat.

Today, temperatures will range from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius across the region. Las Cruces is expected to reach 35 degrees and El Paso will reach 38 degrees. Temperatures will continue to rise each day, with Wednesday and Thursday expected to be the hottest days of this work week.

Rain is also likely in our forecast for Thursday.

This week, be sure to bring water and take breaks indoors to avoid the heat.
