On Thursday, a Delta Air Lines first-class passenger had “a poop accident” that “caused an incredibly foul odor throughout the cabin.” The passenger did not clean up the poop, and other passengers in the front row wanted the flight attendant to do it.

Another first-class customer, who was sitting in first class, approached the crew member “and told her that it was not her job.”

For example, if a hotel’s housekeeping finds blood in a room, they should not simply deal with it themselves. Feces can be dangerous, so if the source is unknown, it should be dealt with using appropriate containment measures on the ground. Whether or not the smell needs to be diverted is at the discretion of the captain. In this case, that was not the view. One way to temporarily mask the smell is to use coffee grounds.

Maybe the Delta pilot is simply used to such incidents by now?
