Marion man dead after accident in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY, Indiana – A Marion man died in a crash on County Road 300 Saturday afternoon, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials said dispatch received a call about a single-vehicle crash in the 3400 block of County Road 300 West around 1:44 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they found a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe lying on its roof in a field off the road.

The release said the driver of the vehicle, identified by authorities as 58-year-old Christopher Paul Hisey of Marion, was found some distance from the Tahoe from which he was ejected. Hisey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Accident Unit.
