Two-vehicle accident on Friars Road in Morena district: Three people injured

MORENA, CA (June 3, 2024) – Late Friday afternoon, May 31, three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Friars Road in the Morena district.

The crash occurred around 5:14 p.m. According to San Diego police, a 27-year-old man was driving his 2008 Toyota 4Runner westbound in the 6000 block of Friars Road. At the same time, an 87-year-old man was driving a 2017 Infiniti in the same area when he attempted to turn left from Gaines Street onto Friars Road.

The Infiniti then collided with the Toyota 4Runner.

The elderly man suffered broken bones in his back, facial injuries and internal bleeding as a result of the accident. His passenger complained of pain in his chest, shoulder and hip.

Meanwhile, the Toyota driver complained of pain in his lower back and nose.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The accident is currently under investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
