Charleston police are investigating Tuesday night’s shooting that left two people dead

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Police are investigating a deadly shooting on Johnson Street in downtown Charleston Tuesday evening.

Charleston officers responded to Johnson Street between America Street and Hanover Street just before 10 p.m. after receiving a call about shots fired.

When they arrived, police found two victims dead from gunshot wounds.

The crime scene remains active as detectives and officers complete their initial investigation, said Anthony Gibson, spokesman for the Charleston Police Department.
