Murray was fined $100,000 for throwing objects on the court

Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray was fined $100,000 for throwing several objects toward an official during Monday’s Game 2 game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, executive vice president Joe Dumars announced and head of NBA basketball operations, announced Tuesday.

The league chose not to suspend Murray for his actions.

During the first half of the game, Murray threw a heat pack from the bench that landed near the feet of T-Wolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns as he attempted to score a basket.

While Towns was not injured in the game, Minnesota head coach Chris Finch commented on Murray after the game.

“It’s inexcusable and dangerous,” Finch told reporters after the T-Wolves’ 106-80 road win. “I’m sure it was just a mistake and an oversight. I’m sure the officiating team had no intention whatsoever, but there’s no way we can let that happen.”

The second-round series continues Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET in the Twin City.

Minnesota has a chance to go 3-0 against the defending champions and secure a victory in its second West Final in franchise history.
