Gas prices fall as June approaches

The national average cost of gasoline has fallen by six cents since last Monday, as we head into the week of Monday, June 3.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The national average for gasoline has fallen six cents since last Monday, bringing the average price to $3.53. The NYS average is down two cents, bringing the average price to $3.70. A year ago today, the average price in New York was $3.56.

AAA Western and Central New York (AAA WCNY) reports the following averages:

  • Batavia – $3.61 (down 1 cent from last Monday)
  • Buffalo – $3.64 (no change from last Monday)
  • Elmira – $3.47 (down 4 cents from last Monday)
  • Ithaca – $3.68 (no change from last Monday)
  • Rochester – $3.66 (down 1 cent from last Monday)
  • Rome – $3.69 (down 1 cent from last Monday)
  • Syracuse – $3.62 (down 3 cents from last Monday)
  • Watertown – $3.71 (down 1 cent from last Monday)

These prices represent the biggest drop in a week for 2024 so far.
