One dead and several injured in shootings in Paterson

The Passaic County District Attorney’s Office was investigating two shootings in Paterson on Sunday that left one person dead and at least three others injured.In the first incident, an off-duty officer was alerted when two gunshot victims sought treatment at a local emergency room.

The victims reported that an armed suspect opened fire in the area of ​​Weiss and Chadwick streets.

Police who arrived at the scene secured the area after discovering several shell casings and another male victim with a gunshot wound. One of the two was pronounced dead at the hospital.

In another incident, another victim was dropped off by a private vehicle at St. Joseph’s Medical Center at around 7:20 p.m.

This person reported that armed assailants on a moped shot at them in the 100 block of Butler Street.

Both incidents are currently being investigated by the Passaic County District Attorney’s Office. No arrests have been made.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
