1 dead and 1 injured in wrong-way driver accident on Ronald Reagan Highway – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

CINCINNATI – One person was killed and another injured in a wrong-way driving accident in Ohio early Sunday morning.

According to our news partner WCPO in Cincinnati, officers and paramedics were dispatched around 1 a.m. Sunday after initial reports came in of a crash on westbound Ronald Reagan Highway near Ridge Road.

According to local media, a driver was traveling in the westbound lane when he was hit head-on by a man traveling in the eastbound lane.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while paramedics took the other driver to the hospital, WCPO reported.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, but it is suspected that alcohol was a factor in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
