Bolingbrook man reported missing in 2022, found dead in Chicago: police

Missing person Edward Gardner of Bolingbrook, Illinois, was found dead in Chicago more than two years after he disappeared, police said.

CHICAGO (WLS) – A Bolingbrook man reported missing in 2022 was found dead in Chicago, Oswego police said Tuesday.

Oswego police said Edward Gardner’s family reported the then-21-year-old missing on March 14, 2022. He was last seen on March 13, 2022 in Chicago.

Two weeks later, on March 29, 2022, Gardner’s rented white Dodge Charger was involved in an accident in Hammond, Indiana. The people inside the Charger fled the scene. Police don’t believe Gardner was there.

Oswego police said Gardner’s body was found March 20 in the 6000 block of South Sangamon Street in the Englewood neighborhood but was not identified until Tuesday.

Oswego police said the investigation into Gardner’s death is ongoing.
