Bear moves through Carlisle Borough and triggers alarm: Police

According to police, a bear was spotted in the southern part of Carlisle Borough on Sunday morning, but is believed to have left the area.

Carlisle Police issued a 10 a.m. notice to residents in the area of ​​Garland Drive and South Hanover Street to keep their pets indoors due to a bear sighting.

Half an hour later, police reported that the bear continued to move south out of the county and was now outside the county.

Police urged residents not to approach the animal if it returns and to just let it continue walking. Sightings can be reported by calling the Carlisle Borough Police Department’s non-emergency number at 717-243-5252.
