Woman shot to death in Shelby, North Carolina

The victim’s identity is currently unknown.

SHELBY, N.C. — A woman is dead after a fight ended in a shooting in Shelby Monday night.

Shelby police said the shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Monday on Live Oak Street in Shelby. After responding to calls about shots fired, police found a woman lying in the front yard of a home with a single gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was not involved in the fight that led to the shooting.

The victim later died in hospital. Her identity is unknown and there have been no arrests at this time.
